Who can practice Aikido?

The only major distinction made at Melbourne Aikido is between the adults and kids classes – to learn more about the kids classes, click here.
 
As Aikido focuses on natural body movements to harness the attackers energy it is inherently suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Aikido is ideal for both men and women, in fact women tend to really take to the art, as the focus is not on muscular strength, but on form & timing. Aikido attracts a diverse range of nationalities, ideologies and perspectives on the world. What everyone has in common is their desire to understand and perfect the art in a co-operative environment.
